Anthony Perruzza (born 1959 or 1960) is a politician in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He was a city councillor in North York from 1988 to 1990, and served in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1990 to 1995 as a member of the New Democratic Party. He is now a Toronto City Councillor for the city's eighth ward, in the eastern section of York West. ==Early life and career==
Perruzza moved to Canada at age nine, and was raised in a working-class family in North York. He attended York University in the 1980s.〔(Anthony Perruzza: About ), accessed 15 October 2006.〕 He first campaigned for the North York city council in a November 1984 by-election for the city's first ward. A newspaper report from the campaign lists him as a twenty-six-year-old businessman and part-time student. Perruzza supported property tax cuts and the creation of a local recreation centre.〔John Keating, "Eleven run for seat on North York council", ''Toronto Star'', 6 November 1984, p. 13.〕 He lost to Mario Sergio in a crowded field of candidates.
